Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to PCU patients with conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, and chronic kidney disease, maintaining a 1:4 patient-nurse ratio when assigned to the unit
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications and IV therapies, perform bedside procedures, manage respiratory support as needed, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, and families; participate in rounds and care planning; implement changes as directed
- Document accurately in the electronic health record, including assessments, interventions, and patient education; monitor and respond to lab results and clinical triggers
- Maintain ACLS/BLS competencies and participate in ongoing emergency response activities as needed
- May be floated to IMCU units (5J, 12A) to support patient care across units when required

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years RN experience in PCU, step-down, or equivalent acute care setting
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Active RN license or licensure as required for practice in the assignment location
- Ability to work day shift; 12-hour shifts; capable of adapting to high-acuity environments
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; ability to collaborate with a diverse care team
