Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate postpartum and newborn care to mothers and babies on the Mother Baby unit.
- Monitor maternal and neonatal status, administer medications per orders, manage IVs and pain control, and escalate concerns promptly.
- Perform routine newborn assessments, feeding support, bathes, screenings, and discharge teaching for families.
- Educate parents on newborn care, breastfeeding support, safety, and recognizing warning signs; collaborate with lactation consultants as needed.
- Document clearly and accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure patient safety, infection control, and privacy standards during care.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, participate in shift handoffs, and contribute to unit quality and safety initiatives.

Requirements
- Active RN license and ability to practice in Georgia (unrestricted).
- Minimum 2 years of recent, hands-on Mother Baby nursing experience.
- Certifications: AHA BLS and NRP.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a 12x3 schedule.
- Holiday coverage: must be available to work two major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day) and one minor holiday (e.g., the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve).
- No locals within 50 miles of the assignment location.
