Responsibilities
- Deliver bedside nursing care to adult patients on a Med Surg Stroke Stepdown unit
- Monitor neurological status, perform NIHSS assessments, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, IV therapies, IV pumps, and use available specialty equipment (e.g., NG tubes, feeding tubes)
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure patient safety
- Document thoroughly in EPIC; adhere to unit protocols, infection control, and patient privacy
- Float to other units as assigned to support patient care needs

Requirements
- Active New York RN license; Nursys license verification with an active NY license and all active RN licenses
- 2+ years of current Med Surg with stroke stepdown experience; travel experience required
- Current AHA BLS certification; NIHSS certification is required for this unit (NIHSS may be obtained prior to start)
- EPIC EMR experience
- Ability to float to other units as needed; driver’s license with address that matches demographics
- RTO (time off) must be included at the time of submission
