Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver comprehensive nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including emergency perinatal events
- Circulate for cesarean deliveries and assist with obstetric procedures; supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff within scope of practice
- Assess maternal and fetal status, monitor amniotic fluid levels, vaginal bleeding, and respond promptly to abnormalities
- Manage labor analgesia and provide alternatives for pain control; assist with epidural catheter placement and monitor status during and after administration
- Educate patients and families across all perinatal and postpartum stages; document nursing care clearly and timely and evaluate patient response
- Utilize EPIC or equivalent electronic health record to document care; operate within an LDRP model and participate in multidisciplinary care planning
- Maintain readiness for perinatal emergencies (e.g., rapid C-sections, shoulder dystocia) and coordinate with the care team to ensure patient safety
- No on-call requirement as part of the assignment; participate in planned shift coverage with flexibility during onboarding transitions

Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California) or appropriate state as required
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course required; AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring training preferred
- EPIC medical record experience required
- LDRP model experience encouraged; no on-call duties during this assignment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced obstetric setting and adapt to onboarding transitioning from day to night shifts
