Responsibilities
- Directly provide patient care and monitor the mother and neonate during labor, delivery, and postpartum, including breastfeeding support as needed.
- Assess and document maternal and neonatal status; respond to changes and communicate with the physician and nursing leadership.
- Educate and counsel patients and families on pregnancy, delivery, postpartum care, and infant care.
- Collaborate with nursery staff and other members of the care team to implement appropriate care plans.
- Assist physicians with procedures and respond to emergencies, while maintaining a safe and clean care environment.
- Document all events, interventions, and education in the electronic medical record; advocate for patient needs throughout the episode of care.

Requirements
- Active Colorado Registered Nurse license
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
- BLS and NRP required; ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience
- Ability to work nights and meet the assignment’s schedule; weekend and holiday coverage as required
- Demonstrated ability to perform in a high-acuity, fast-paced obstetric setting and to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
