Responsibilities
- Provide RN First Assistant support during surgical procedures, including tissue handling, exposure, retraction, hemostasis, suction, and assistance under the surgeon’s direction
- Maintain an accurate and sterile field; assist with instrument handling and wound closure per perioperative protocol
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and circulating staff to optimize efficiency and patient safety
- Anticipate intraoperative needs, manage/supply surgical instruments, and ensure equipment readiness for cases
- Participate in case preparation and intraoperative documentation as assigned; contribute to patient safety and procedural quality
- Primary shift follows 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM schedule with on-call coverage as needed; float to main OR at designated site when required

Requirements
- Licensure: Active Massachusetts RN license (conditional licenses accepted) in hand at submission
- Certifications: CNOR, ACLS, BLS required
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of RNFA experience; acute hospital OR experience preferred
- Education: RN degree required; specific degree level not defined in posting
- Additional: COVID-19 vaccination with current booster required (no exemptions); ability to work in an acute OR setting and to float to main OR as needed
