Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients at nutritional risk and develop the nutrition plan of care.
- Provide medical nutrition therapy, monitor intake, initiate interventions, and document progress in the medical record.
- Reassess patients regularly to evaluate the effectiveness of the nutrition plan and adjust care as needed.
- Educate patients and family members on nutrition, disease management, and healthy eating patterns.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary health care team, participate in rounds, and communicate findings to other clinicians.
- Orient and instruct new professionals, dietetic interns, and ancillary staff on duties and unit operations.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in food and nutrition or equivalent; Master’s Degree required only if eligibility for examination began on or after 1/1/24.
- Licenses/Certifications: Registered Dietitian (RD) with licensure to be obtained within 6 months of residency completion; current BLS certification.
- Experience: At least 2 years of recent clinical dietitian experience; 3–5 years preferred; inpatient experience preferred.
- Certifications/Systems: EPIC experience required.
- Other: Ability to work in an inpatient setting in California; day shift availability.
