Responsibilities
- Perform gross examination and dissection of large/complex specimens and small biopsies
- Cut and stain frozen sections as needed
- Provide macroscopic descriptions of specimens
- Triage fresh tissue for lymphoma workups (flow cytometry)
- Identify glomeruli for medical renal cores
- Prepare tissues for histologic processing and sectioning
- Float within the lab as needed within the PA scope of practice
- Support a team consisting of four pathologists and roughly six histotechnologists
- Manage a typical workload of about 200 blocks per day, with specimens including heavy breast resections, uterus, lung, colon resections, and small biopsies

Requirements
- New York State PA license active at submission and start date
- ASCP-PA certification
- Minimum 1 year of Pathology Assistant experience (travel experience preferred)
- Experience in surgical pathology with heavy breast service
- Epic charting experience required
- Ability to float within the hospital as needed to support the PA duties
