Southminster is seeking a dependable, resident-focused Transportation Driver to safely transport residents to appointments, outings, and other destinations throughout Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. This role is ideal for a courteous, patient professional who enjoys supporting older adults and providing excellent service on the road.

What You’ll Do

Safely transport residents to scheduled appointments, local destinations, and company outings within the established driving zone.
Assist residents as they enter and exit vehicles, including elevator and wheelchair assistance as needed.
Provide a friendly, patient, and professional experience for residents and staff.
Operate company vehicles, including standard sedans and the Southminster bus.
Use a vehicle cell phone for work-related communication as needed.
Maintain vehicle readiness by fueling vehicles and submitting keys, gas receipts, and company credit cards to the Director of Housekeeping.
Report the condition of vehicles at the end of each driving day.
Maintain a working knowledge of streets and routes throughout Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.
Occasionally travel out of town.
Work flexible hours as needed, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior professional driving experience required.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Valid North Carolina CDL with no prior violations required; Class P endorsement preferred.
Ability to safely operate a standard sedan and Southminster bus.
Ability to assist residents with mobility needs, including pushing wheelchairs and providing physical assistance when appropriate.
Strong customer-service skills, patience, professionalism, and reliability.
Ability to pass required pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Schedule

This position may require occasional flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional out-of-town travel.
