Position Overview

The Trading Specialist plays a key role in supporting the daily trading operations of Mutual Group’s advisory and brokerage accounts. This position is responsible for executing trades across a range of financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, and options, in accordance with advisor models and instructions. The ideal candidate is accurate, efficient under pressure, and eager to grow their skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Trade Execution and Rebalancing

• Execute, manage, and monitor trades during market hours across multiple custodians and platforms.

• Trade and rebalance portfolios across multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, options, and UITs) in accordance with advisor models and instructions.

• Use third-party trading systems to calculate rebalances, allocate assets, and execute trades.

• Review trading reports to identify accounts requiring action and ensure portfolios remain aligned with assigned models.

Advisor Support and Process Improvement

• Research and troubleshoot trade-related issues in coordination with custodians and internal teams.

• Support onboarding of new advisors, accounts, and portfolio models, ensuring trading integration is seamless.

• Assist with trading-related activities such as cash management, distributions, and tax-loss harvesting.

• Contribute to the development and refinement of trading procedures and documentation.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Relevant experience in trading, operations, or investment support; three (3) or more years preferred.

• Series 7 license.

• Series 65 license, or willingness to obtain it within six months of hire.

• Strong working knowledge of investment products and operational processes.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during market hours.

• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Preferred

• Familiarity with the Orion Eclipse trading platform.

• Experience with custodians such as Fidelity, Schwab, and NFS.

• Understanding of advisory account structures, 401(k) and 529 rebalancing, and annuity platforms.

Salary Range

Annual base salary range (full-time equivalent): $75,000 to $95,000.

Final offer will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and demonstrated capabilities. The position is also eligible for discretionary performance-based bonus consideration.
