TPT - Astronomy (SP, SU, FA27)

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia
County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch
campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a community college
in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.  With an
emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer
programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high
schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties.  The faculty and staff serve a
student body of over 2,000 students per semester.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Master’s degree in Astronomy, or
  Master's degree in related field and 18 graduate credit hours in Astronomy.
• One year experience teaching at a
  post-secondary institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD, ABD, or EdD in Astronomy or
  related field.
• Experience and/or certification
  to teach online.
• Demonstrated excellence in
  teaching at a post-secondary institution.
• A demonstrated commitment to
  cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico
  and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global
  communities.
