Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a Master's-level Unlicensed Therapist (SWC/LSW, LPCC, or MFT-C), Licensed Therapist (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT), or Unlicensed/Licensed Psychologist to join our Crisis Team, providing life-changing services through our Walk-In Clinic (WIC). The Walk-In Clinic serves individuals of all ages experiencing a self-defined behavioral health crisis, offering assessment, intervention, safety planning, referrals, and placement coordination 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Schedule. This position is fully Onsite/In-person, working 4 x 10 hour shifts. Available schedules are:
Wednesday–Saturday, Day Shift: 6:30am–5pm
Salary for this role. Wage is based on years of licensure and company equity. Shift differentials available for certain shifts.
Unlicensed Therapist: $29.17 - $31.50 per hour.
Licensed Therapist: $32.47 - $44.48 per hour.
Unlicensed Psychologist: $33.66 - $37.01 per hour.
Licensed Psychologist: $47.83 - $61.23 per hour.
Shift Differential Pay. The Day weekend shift differential is paid from 7 am to 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays only; the Swing shift differential is paid from 3 pm to 11 pm; and the Overnight shift differential is paid from 11 pm - 7 am
Day Weekend (Sat, Sun): $2.50
Overnight Weekday (Monday - Thursday): $4.25/hour
Overnight Weekend (Friday, Saturday & Sunday): $6.25/hour
Swing Weekday (Mon-Thurs): $2.75/hour
Swing Weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun): $4.25/hour
Essential Duties:
Function as an integral member of a multidisciplinary crisis services team and actively contribute to a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
Provide exemplary customer service in alignment with AMHR's mission, values, and standards of care while delivering compassionate, person-centered crisis services.
Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments, including mental health, substance use, suicide risk, homicide risk, safety, and level-of-care evaluations for individuals presenting in crisis.
Complete timely clinical screenings, assessments, and evaluations to determine appropriate treatment recommendations, disposition, and service needs.
Assess clients experiencing acute psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, and substance use crises and utilize sound clinical judgment to determine appropriate interventions.
Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, de-escalation, and safety planning services to individuals, families, and support systems.
Develop and implement individualized treatment, stabilization, and discharge plans that support recovery and reduce the need for higher levels of care whenever clinically appropriate.
Deliver trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and evidence-based interventions that promote resilience, safety, stabilization, and client empowerment.
Provide individual, family, and group therapeutic services to clients receiving crisis stabilization services, as appropriate.
Monitor client progress, evaluate ongoing risk factors, and revise treatment interventions based on clinical presentation and response to treatment.
Coordinate admissions, transfers, referrals, and discharge planning to ensure timely access to appropriate behavioral health services and continuity of care.
Facilitate placement into crisis stabilization, inpatient psychiatric care, detoxification services, outpatient treatment, community resources, or other levels of care as clinically indicated.
Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, nurses, peer specialists, case managers, medical professionals, community providers, law enforcement, hospitals, schools, and other stakeholders involved in client care.
Assist clients in identifying strengths, developing coping strategies, building support systems, and connecting with ongoing behavioral health resources.
Provide case management, care coordination, service linkage, and referral support to promote successful transitions between levels of care.
Respond effectively to emergent situations involving behavioral health crises, safety concerns, involuntary treatment evaluations, and high-acuity client presentations.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that supports client stabilization, recovery, dignity, and well-being.
Prepare clinical reports, evaluations, treatment plans, discharge summaries, safety plans, correspondence, and other required documentation in accordance with confidentiality requirements and applicable releases of information.
Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) and other required systems in accordance with regulatory, contractual, accreditation, and organizational standards.
Assist with grant and contract deliverables, reporting requirements, outcome tracking, client satisfaction initiatives, and other programmatic responsibilities as assigned.
Maintain all credentialing requirements and complete activities necessary for ongoing participation with third-party payers, as applicable.
Attend trainings, meetings, clinical consultations, and other professional development activities as required.
Meet established productivity, quality, documentation, and performance expectations, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
Participate in other clinical, administrative, and organizational activities as assigned.
Participate in student training programs and committees. Provide clinical supervision and oversight, including co-signing clinical documentation when clinically appropriate and in accordance with organizational policy.
QualificationsRequirements:
Unlicensed Therapist or Psychologist:
Master’s or Doctoral degree in professional counseling from a program that’s accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), or CSWE (Council on Social Work Education).
Must obtain a mental health Candidate Permit (e.g., LPCC, PSYC, MFTC, SWC/LSW) within 30 days of hire and actively pursue an independent clinical license (LPC, LP, LMFT, or LCSW). AMHR will provide quality supervision for clinical hours towards licensure at no cost to the employee.
Preferred: At least one year of clinical experience providing care to the appropriate client population, including diagnosing, conducting intake assessments, and delivering individual, family, or group therapy.
Licensed Therapist or Psychologist:
At least two years of clinical experience providing care, including conducting individual, family, and/or group therapy.
Professional licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Psychologist (PhD, PSYD) – or equivalent licensure in another state with the intent to transfer.
Colorado Licensure Requirement: If you currently hold an out-of-state license, it is a condition of employment that you obtain the appropriate Colorado licensure through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) within 30 days of your hire date.
Knowledge of theories and evidence-based practices related to clinical treatment.
Ability to learn and utilize an electronic health record with proficiency.
Solid understanding of mental illness and treatment modalities within a multidisciplinary approach.
Knowledge of DSM-V.
Ability to understand and effectively respond to all client presentations and crisis situations.
Ability to document interactions with clients, other agencies, and mental health professionals.
Required Vaccination and TB Test.
