Temporary Reclamation Laborer

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION’S ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Complete physical laboring tasks throughout the mining operation.  Work performed in varying extremes with exposure to dust, noise, chemicals, and adverse weather.  Will be working on construction of wire fences utilizing hand shovel, posthole digger, post pounder and other fencing tools/equipment. Responsibilities will include preparing the ground for planting and planting a variety of trees and other vegetation. Responsibilities may include installation of silt fencing, rip rap and other erosion controls as well as application of mulch & fertilizer, and cutting grass with push mower and brush hog.  Schedule may require working a multi-shift rotation including weekend work. Operate farm tractor with associated attachments. Operate forklifts, skid loaders and hydromulch truck.  Must comply with all Company, State and Federal safety & environmental rules and regulations.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Physical skill and ability to complete moderate to heavy laboring that includes repetitive or sustained physical effort, continuous walking or standing on uneven terrain, climbing of vertical ladders, frequent lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 lbs.  Must have ability to communicate effectively and to interact with other production personnel to ensure teamwork and safe, efficient operations.  Work experience in performing general laboring tasks and operating farm equipment is preferred. Pre-employment physicals/drug screenings, personal & criminal backgrounds checks will be conducted on all candidates receiving conditional offers.

Successful applicant must possess a valid driver’s license through the duration of employment. Successful applicant must meet all insurability requirements as specified by Westmoreland’s policies or Driver’s insurance provider.
