Temporary F01 Fireguards - Downtown Brooklyn

Job Requirements

We are seeking a diligent and responsible individual to fill the role of a Fireguard. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding safety standards. This position requires a keen eye for identifying potential fire hazards and the ability to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations.

THREE DAYS ONLY

Event Dates: September 16, September 17, September 18

Shift Times: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am

Responsibilities:

• Secure property and personnel by standing on post, scanning, and controlling facilities, grounds, and access points.
• Implement and practice security procedures and protocols.
• Maintain a secure and safe environment by monitoring access control systems along with fire and trespassing exits.
• Conduct regular patrols to monitor premises for fire hazards, such as flammable materials, faulty wiring, or blocked fire exits.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergency calls, taking appropriate action to contain and extinguish fires.
• Assist with evacuations, guiding occupants to safety and coordinating with emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections of fire suppression equipment, such as extinguishers and sprinkler systems, to ensure they are in proper working order.
• Document all incidents, inspections, and activities in detailed reports for record-keeping purposes.
• Strong ability to be attentive to detail and observant of surroundings.
• Provide excellent customer service experience by greeting incoming guests and tenants,
• providing information regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitor.
• Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain, snow, or heat.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisors related to security and safety.

Work Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Fireguard license or certification required (F01).
• Valid NYS Security Guard license
• Prior experience in security, firefighting, or a related field preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects as needed.
