Temp Parttime Faculty - Language, Literacy and Sociocultural Studies

The hired part-time instructors
are expected to teach undergraduates and graduates in LLSS courses related to
the Department programs. This faculty member will be expected to participate in
enhancing the coherence and effectiveness of the teacher preparation programs.

LLSS is recruiting qualified instructors for the following courses:

LLSS 430/527, Teach Writing to Child & Adol/ Advanced Teaching
Writing
LLSS 315, Educating Linguistically and Culturally Diverse Students
LLSS 321, School and Society
LLSS 432, Teaching of Social Studies
LLSS 459/ LLSS 559, Second Language Literacy
LLSS 482/581, Teaching English as a Second Language
LLSS 570, Science and Native American Education
LLSS 465/565, Teaching Navajo in Immersion
and Community Settings
LLSS 462/562, Navajo
Pedagogy and Community Engagement

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned
Master’s in education or a closely related field, with evidence of expertise in specific
course or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Earned a doctorate in Education, TESOL, or closely related fields
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching (grades K-12) in public schools in the U.S.
• Interest or experience in teaching the specific course(s)
• A demonstrated commitment
to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and
to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global
communities
