TELLER I

Purpose

Receive and process member’s financial transactions and record via an online computer terminal. Adhere to the GUEST Model for sales and service at all times. Performs duties in compliance with regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Receives checks and cash for deposit; verify deposit amount, examine checks for endorsement and negotiability.
• Cashes checks and provides cash from shares and share draft withdrawals, verify signature, account numbers, and account balances.
• Processes transactions of IRA deposit and withdrawals.
• Receives loan payments; verify payments equal amount due, collect late charges if applicable.
• Sells, collects, and balances fees on money orders, official checks.
• Balances cash drawer at designated balancing times by counting cash in drawer, balancing checks, and making settlement of the day’s activities.
• Receives and verify cash shipments.
• Assists with end of day balancing procedures.
• Performs VISA cash advances.
• Completes various forms and collects proper fees.
• Creates, closes, or reorders ATM/Visa Debit cards.
• Processes night drop transactions.
• Provides basic credit union information via telephone and/or in person.
• Promotes credit union products and services based on member needs obtained through “getting to know” your member.
• Assures proper maintenance, cleanliness, and security of work areas, desks, and equipment.
• Responsible for complying with the Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures, including attendance at annual training, as directed by the Bank Secrecy Act Officer.
• Works in the spirit of the credit union’s purpose and values.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
