A Monitor Technician's primary role is to monitor patients' cardiac rhythms on telemetry and support the department as needed, handling tasks efficiently and professionally. They positively greet and direct team members, guests, and calls ensuring Person-Centered care.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Monitors cardiac rhythms, reports abnormalities, maintains logs, and supports the interdisciplinary team with cardiac telemetry and patient care.
• Upholds confidentiality, manages supplies, keeps the unit organized, and adapts to additional responsibilities as needed.
• Efficiently manages electronic and physical information files, ensures accurate data entry, and assists with unit paperwork.
• Interacts with integrity, supports team morale, aids new staff orientation, and communicates professionally.
• Monitors and reports safety concerns, addresses alarms, and completes performance improvement tasks.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School or equivalent experience
• BLS Certification- will be provided if needed

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience in EKG Interpretation
• Patient care
• Medical Terminology

Physical Requirements: 

• Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard).
• Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs. (e.g., boxes, equipment, IV solutions), with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch for tasks such as retrieving items from lower shelves or filing in low drawers.
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, as the position may require.
• Capacity to operate job-related equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Location and Travel Requirements:  

• Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center- 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850
• Shift: Two(2) 12-hour shifts 6:45am - 7:15pm, rotating holidays and weekends
• 0% Travel can be expected for this role

Pay Range Disclosure:

• Standard Rate of $19.47 - $25.75 per hour plus benefits
