Position Overview 

The AI Marketplace team is seeking a Technical Product Manager to support growth, adoption, analytics, expansion, and automation across the Optum AI Marketplace. This role will partner with product, engineering, design, analytics, operations, sales, partner teams, security, and platform stakeholders to translate marketplace needs into clear requirements, prioritize work, and support delivery from discovery through launch. 

The ideal candidate has experience with technical products, platforms, APIs, marketplace experiences, developer experiences, analytics, or enterprise technology capabilities. They can break down complex problems, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and help drive execution across teams. This role is focused on improving how buyers, partners, sellers, and developers discover, evaluate, subscribe to, onboard, use, and expand adoption of API and software products through scalable, self-service marketplace experiences. Experience with API commercialization, growth funnels, onboarding automation, reporting, operational workflows, or developer platforms is valuable, but this role is primarily focused on execution, delivery support, continuous improvement, and measurable marketplace outcomes. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Own and execute product work for assigned AI Marketplace capabilities, including discovery, requirements, prioritization, delivery support, launch readiness, and stakeholder alignment. 

• Convert business objectives, user pain points, partner needs, analytics insights, operational constraints, and platform dependencies into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and priority decisions. 

• Drive growth and adoption initiatives that improve how buyers, partners, sellers, and developers discover, evaluate, try, buy, onboard, and use AI Marketplace products. 

• Use marketplace metrics, funnel analysis, support trends, user feedback, and operational data to identify opportunities to improve conversion, activation, engagement, retention, expansion, and self-service success. 

• Support marketplace expansion needs, including new product offerings, API and software packaging, multi-product experiences, partner onboarding, pricing or subscription workflows, and commercialization enablement. 

• Partner with engineering, design, analytics, operations, sales, security, identity, API platform, and business teams to sequence dependencies, assess risks, and drive release quality gates. 

• Support automation and process improvements that reduce manual work, improve onboarding consistency, increase operational throughput, and create more scalable marketplace workflows. 

• Communicate product direction, tradeoffs, risks, dependencies, decisions, and delivery progress clearly with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership. 

• Contribute to documentation, repeatable processes, reporting, release readiness, and cross-team alignment for assigned marketplace capabilities. 

• Apply AI product management tools and practices to improve requirements quality, documentation, prioritization, analysis, and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Healthcare Administration, Product Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. (Typically supported by 8+ years of relevant professional experience.)
• 6+ years of experience in product management, technical product management, platform product management, growth product management, marketplace product management, or related technology roles
• 5+ years of experience working with APIs, platform products, marketplace experiences, developer experiences, integrations, analytics, or enterprise technology environments
• 4+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, with demonstrated strength in communication, documentation, requirements management, and decision-making across engineering, design, analytics, operations, security, product, sales, and business teams
• 4+ years of experience translating technical, business, growth, user experience, and operational needs into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, roadmaps, and delivery priorities
• 4+ years of experience managing ambiguity, prioritizing complex portfolios of work, identifying dependencies, evaluating tradeoffs, and driving execution across multiple teams and stakeholders
• 4+ years of experience operating in fast-paced, matrixed enterprise environments with dependent teams, evolving priorities, production-readiness expectations, governance requirements, and measurable business outcomes

Preferred requirements: 

• Experience working with technical products, marketplaces, APIs, developer experiences, integrations, cloud-based systems, enterprise technology capabilities, or product-led growth workflows
• Familiarity with marketplace lifecycle concepts such as discovery, product listings, onboarding, subscriptions, credentialing, activation, usage tracking, supportability, and expansion
• Familiarity with API commercialization, marketplace models, developer ecosystems, partner enablement, seller workflows, product packaging, pricing, or subscription experiences
• Experience using analytics, funnel metrics, user research, support data, experimentation, or business cases to drive product decisions and improve adoption outcomes
• Experience improving self-service onboarding, operational workflows, internal tooling, automation, reporting, or scalable support processes
• Strong user experience judgment and familiarity with buyer, partner, seller, administrator, and developer-facing platform experiences
• Exposure to observability, operational readiness, incident learnings, platform reliability, identity, access management, API management, developer portals, or cloud-based platform architectures
• Experience applying AI tools to accelerate product discovery, requirements development, documentation, analysis, prioritization, and delivery collaboration

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
