Team Lead Operations Account Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Team Lead Operations Account Management based in United States.

This role leads day-to-day operational performance and execution for assigned healthcare clients, serving as a key liaison between client facilities and internal delivery teams. You will oversee tactical revenue cycle outcomes across billing, follow-up, collections, denials, and claim resolution. The position combines operational monitoring, client relationship management, performance analysis, and issue resolution. You will translate client needs into clear priorities while tracking KPIs, identifying risks, and improving execution. You will also mentor and coach staff, helping reinforce best practices and remove operational barriers. Success is measured through client stability, reduced escalations, cash performance, A/R results, and overall revenue cycle effectiveness.

Accountabilities:

• Monitor daily operational performance, action plans, battle cards, and key performance indicators for assigned clients, including A/R days, cash performance, denial trends, and accuracy measures.
• Serve as the primary operational point of contact between client facilities and internal delivery teams, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent communication.
• Translate client needs, requests, and operational issues into clear priorities, action plans, and execution requirements.
• Review reports and dashboards to identify trends, operational risks, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, developing corrective actions when needed.
• Lead tactical initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reimbursement performance, workflow consistency, and issue resolution.
• Ensure client inquiries are addressed promptly, provide appropriate resolution timelines, and proactively escalate unbilled accounts, claim issues, service risks, and operational blockers.
• Coordinate with operations, finance, payer relations, technology, and strategic client management teams to resolve issues and maintain a consistent client experience.
• Maintain awareness of contract requirements and ensure billing, invoicing, and service delivery remain aligned with negotiated terms.
• Support accurate customer invoicing and monthly billing processes by validating supporting information and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain current knowledge of hospital billing systems, government payer programs, reimbursement policies, coding practices, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Protect the confidentiality of patient and client information and ensure activities comply with HIPAA, ERISA, equal employment opportunity requirements, and other applicable regulations.
• Stay current on industry developments, legislative changes, and revenue cycle best practices through ongoing learning and required meetings.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, mentor, and develop team members to support short- and long-term performance and organizational objectives.
• Establish clear expectations for direct reports, provide ongoing performance feedback, complete performance reviews, and address performance issues appropriately.
• Ensure employees understand their responsibilities, support training and organizational development programs, and maintain accurate staff records.
• Administer internal policies and procedures in alignment with HR, financial, budgetary, and organizational requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in hospital revenue cycle operations, with strong exposure to billing, follow-up, collections, and claim resolution.
• Working knowledge of insurance regulations, reimbursement practices, procedure and diagnosis coding, and automated billing workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to research complex accounts, identify root causes, work issues through resolution, and implement corrective actions.
• Strong client-facing communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain operational findings, timelines, risks, and next steps.
• Excellent critical-thinking, organizational, and time-management skills, combined with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word, and comfort working across multiple systems and reporting outputs.
• Experience with Medicare hospital billing and/or government payers such as Medicare and Medicaid is preferred.
• Experience working with hospital billing platforms, EHR, or revenue cycle management systems such as Epic, Cerner, Thrive, or comparable tools is an advantage.
• Experience with revenue cycle analytics, including denial and underpayment trends, KPI reporting, and dashboard interpretation, is preferred.
• Previous experience managing clients, handling escalations, supporting service recovery, and coordinating across multiple functions is highly valued.
• Exposure to invoicing processes, contract compliance validation, and operational performance governance is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team development capabilities, with the ability to motivate employees and align individual performance with organizational goals.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and operate with professionalism, discretion, and accountability.

• Base salary range of $70,000–$80,000 annually.
