Schedule / Expected Work Hours:

• Seasonal, part-time during tax season (January–April)
• Evening and weekend availability required
• Typical hours: Monday–Saturday, 9 AM–7 PM

Job SummaryAs a Tax Preparer at Liberty Tax, you are responsible for accurately preparing tax returns for individuals and small businesses while providing exceptional customer service. This role supports clients in understanding their financial situation, ensuring compliance, and delivering the trusted service Liberty Tax is known for.
Responsibilities 

• Prepare accurate federal and state income tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
• Conduct client interviews to gather tax and financial information.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and company policies.
• Deliver excellent customer service and explain return results clearly.
• Maintain organized, secure, and accurate client records.
• Stay current on changing tax regulations through ongoing training.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow during peak season.
• Support marketing and client retention efforts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Experience using tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Must have PTIN (or be eligible to obtain one).
• Prior experience in tax preparation preferred.
