The Job

Burial Beer Co. is looking for a dynamic team member to join our Front of House team at our Forestry Camp Taproom location. Located on historic grounds, with plenty of room to spread out and explore, the Forestry Camp Taproom experience features over 24 taps, a full service kitchen highlighting approachable American dishes, cocktails, and a highly-curated selection of wine. 

This is a dynamic, guest-focused role that will work across hospitality, service, and bar operations to help create a welcoming and memorable experience for all guests. We’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, works well as part of a team, and can confidently move between responsibilities while maintaining a high level of hospitality. You thrive in a high volume service environment, and ensure that our guests receive great customer service and a memorable experience. 

This is a hybrid role, with team members assigned to one of the roles below for each shift based on scheduling needs. You will focus on the responsibilities of your assigned role and will not be expected to perform both roles simultaneously.

What You’ll Do

Taproom Support

• Provide attentive and hospitable service to guests throughout their visit, including delivering food and beverages, clearing tables, and responding to guest needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of guest-facing areas, service stations, and surrounding property.
• Maintain an accurate knowledge of the food menu.
• Double-check orders for accuracy and completeness..
• Clear and return dishes, glassware, and utensils to the appropriate areas and assist with maintaining clean, stocked service stations.
• Communicate guest feedback, concerns, and service needs to the appropriate FOH, BOH, or management team.
• Monitor the taproom and proactively communicate operational or guest-related concerns to management.
• Assist with stocking, trash and recycling removal, and other operational tasks as needed.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, and side work responsibilities.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the company, brand, and beers so you can provide informed responses to customers if asked.
• Follow all company sanitation, safety, and service standards.
• Assist other front-of-house team members as needed 

Service/Bar

• Welcome guests, provide knowledgeable recommendations, and assist with food and beverage orders.
• Flex between bartending, serving, bussing, and other FOH responsibilities based on business needs.
• Prepare and serve beer, cocktails, and other beverages in accordance with company standards.
• Process guest transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Complete daily and weekly cleaning, stocking, and preparation tasks to ensure the team is prepared for service.
• Assist with beer restocking and other beverage-related operational needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Adhere to all applicable NC ABC laws and company policies.
• Communicate proactively and professionally with FOH, BOH, and management teams.
• Respond to guest concerns and assist with service recovery when appropriate.
• Support high-volume service with flexibility, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
• Provide event and other taproom support as needed.

What Success Looks Like

• Creates a welcoming guest experience by providing attentive, friendly, and thoughtful service; responding proactively to guest needs; confidently answering questions; and making informed recommendations about food, beverages, beer, and the Forestry Camp experience.
• Demonstrates strong service and beverage knowledge by maintaining familiarity with menu offerings, accurately preparing and serving beer, cocktails, and other beverages, completing basic prep, and supporting quality and consistency throughout service.
• Communicates clearly and proactively with bartenders, kitchen staff, leadership, and other team members to share guest needs, feedback, operational concerns, and relevant service or safety issues, contributing to smooth and effective service.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized environment by consistently following sanitation and safety standards, keeping guest and service areas prepared, and promptly communicating maintenance, inventory, or other operational needs.
• Demonstrates reliability and attention to detail by completing assigned responsibilities, opening and closing duties, side work, POS transactions, and other operational tasks accurately and consistently.
• Adapts to changing service needs by confidently moving between hospitality, bussing, food service, bar support, and other Front of House responsibilities; stepping in where needed; and maintaining professionalism and situational awareness during high-volume service and events.
• Contributes to a collaborative team culture by engaging appropriately in team communication platforms, building positive cross-departmental relationships, and communicating with coworkers in a respectful, constructive, and team-oriented manner.
• Upholds Burial’s standards and core values by demonstrating honesty, accountability, integrity, inclusivity, and professionalism in both work output and interpersonal interactions.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience bartending in craft beverage industry is preferred.
• Previous FOH restaurant is a plus
• Minimum age requirement of 21 years or older
• Basic math and computer skills
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holiday weekends
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and kneeling throughout the shift.
• Ability to navigate quickly and safely in crowded or confined spaces.
• Comfortable working in varying environments, including warm or cold conditions
• Ability to perform repetitive motions

• Compensation: Base Hourly wage + tip share (base wage varies on assigned role)
