What You'll Be Doing

Teach swim lessons to children and adults of all ages and skill levels.
Create a safe, fun, and encouraging learning environment during every class.
Instruct participants using YMCA swim lesson curriculum and teaching techniques.
Ensure all pool and safety guidelines are followed at all times.
Build positive relationships with swimmers and their families.
Prepare lesson equipment before class and store it properly afterward.
Encourage participants, celebrate progress, and help swimmers achieve their goals.
Represent the YMCA's mission and core values through every interaction.

What We're Looking For

Must be at least 15 years old.
Positive, energetic, and comfortable leading groups.
Passion for working with children, families, and people of all ages.
Dependable, patient, and encouraging.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Commitment to the YMCA's mission and core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Qualifications: Requirements

Current YMCA or American Red Cross certifications in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration, or the abiity to obtain required certifications through YMCA-provided training before employment. 
Willingness to attend required trainings and staff meetings.
Ability to arrive prepared and ready to teach each scheduled lesson.

Arrive on time and prepared for every class.
