Overview

A family in downtown Manhattan is seeking an experienced Full-Time Nanny to care for their 6-month-old infant and become a trusted, long-term partner in their child's growth and development.

The family is looking for a loving, engaged, and proactive nanny who genuinely enjoys the infant and early toddler stages and understands how quickly a child's needs evolve during the first years of life. The ideal candidate brings strong infant experience, a thoughtful understanding of developmental milestones, and the confidence to create engaging, age-appropriate days while maintaining the consistency and structure that are important to the family.

Open communication and partnership are central to this role. The parents are occasionally home during the workday, so the nanny should be equally comfortable providing independent care and working alongside engaged parents. They are looking for someone who communicates openly, shares observations, welcomes feedback, and feels comfortable speaking up when something related to the child's care or development warrants discussion.

The family travels regularly to both domestic and international destinations, and they would love to find a nanny who enjoys traveling and can provide continuity of care while away from home.

The general schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, guaranteeing 50–55 hours per week. Flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends with advance notice is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, loving, and developmentally appropriate care for an infant.
• Maintain consistent daily routines around feeding, naps, play, outings, and transitions.
• Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities that support physical, cognitive, social, and language development.
• Encourage exploration and early learning through reading, music, sensory experiences, outdoor time, classes, and play.
• Support the introduction and progression of solids and evolving feeding routines.
• Prepare bottles, meals, and snacks for the child and maintain feeding supplies.
• Track and communicate relevant information regarding feeding, sleep, development, and daily routines.
• Maintain a screen-free environment for the child.
• Take initiative in anticipating developmental transitions and the child's changing needs.
• Complete child-related laundry and maintain organization and cleanliness of the nursery, play areas, toys, and supplies.
• Provide light household support, including dishes, maintaining shared spaces, and occasional simple errands.
• Prepare simple meals for the child; willingness to assist with light family meal preparation is strongly preferred.
• Communicate openly and collaborate with parents regarding routines, observations, and the child's development.
• Travel domestically and internationally with the family as needed.
• Provide occasional evening babysitting with advance notice when available.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience caring for infants, ideally including experience through the transition from infancy into toddlerhood.
• Strong understanding of infant development, feeding, sleep routines, developmental milestones, and age-appropriate enrichment.
• Loving, nurturing, and highly engaged with children.
• Proactive and confident while remaining respectful of the parents' routines and parenting approach.
• Comfortable maintaining structure and consistency while exercising sound independent judgment.
• Excellent communicator who is receptive to feedback and comfortable sharing observations with parents.
• Calm under pressure, dependable, punctual, and highly attentive to detail.
• Comfortable working both independently and alongside parents.
• Experience traveling with private families is strongly preferred.
• Italian language skills and willingness to speak Italian with the child are a plus.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Infant CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification prior to starting.
• Up-to-date on infant-relevant vaccinations.
• Valid passport and comfortable with domestic and international travel.
• Able to provide outstanding professional references.
• Able to successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.
• Available for a long-term commitment.

Salary and Benefits

• $30–$35/hour, based on experience.
• 50–55 guaranteed hours per week.
• Overtime paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate for all hours worked over 40 per week.
• Anticipated gross annual compensation of approximately $86,000–$114,000.
