Join the Shinsen Sushi team as a Sushi Roller and bring creativity, quality, and exceptional service to every plate!

The Sushi Roller is responsible for preparing and presenting fresh, high-quality sushi according to established recipes and presentation standards. This position works closely with both front-of-house and back-of-house team members to ensure orders are prepared accurately and efficiently while creating a welcoming dining experience for our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and present sushi and other menu items according to established recipes, portioning, quality, and presentation standards.
Complete guest orders accurately and efficiently while providing friendly service to guests seated at the sushi bar.
Anticipate and respond to guest needs to help create a positive dining experience.
Maintain clear communication with the Chef, kitchen, bar, dining room, and other team members.
Respond quickly and appropriately to guest concerns or operational needs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift.
Clean and sanitize food preparation equipment, counters, tables, utensils, and surrounding work areas.
Follow all established food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
Maintain a professional, positive, and respectful demeanor when interacting with guests, fellow team members, management, and vendors.
Accept coaching and performance feedback in a professional manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.

 
: Education and Experience

Must be at least 19 years of age.
High School Diploma and/or GED preferred.
Previous sushi preparation, food preparation, restaurant, or customer service experience is preferred.
Customer-service focused with an outgoing, upbeat, and positive attitude.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to quality and presentation.
Ability to remain professional and composed during busy or potentially stressful situations.
Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require.
Must be able to work variable overtime when required.

Work Environment

This position is located within a casino and restaurant environment. Team Members must be able to work in areas that may include:

Secondary smoke
High noise levels
Bright lights
Dust
Fast-paced kitchen and restaurant activity
