Survey Administrator – Part Time

Survey Administrators are responsible for:
 

• Traveling frequently to selected locations to administer survey or assessments to study participants
• Making in-person contact with selected respondents to discuss the study, answer questions, and obtain participation
• and/or assessments
• Prompting school staff by email and phone for missing data collection information (such as ensuring teachers administer surveys directly to students, scheduling make-up sessions, resolving data collection discrepancies)
• Hosting meetings with school staff to assess preparedness of scheduled survey dates, ensuring survey day logistics are completed
• Communicating with school staff to track parental consent returns and student eligibility to ensure only students allowed to participate, participate on the scheduled survey date
• Independently managing administrative duties, including participating in conference calls and completing online trainings 
• Assuming full and legal responsibility for use and care of project issued equipment
• Safeguarding any issued equipment or project materials against damage, loss, or theft
• Submitting timely and accurate Time and Expense reports
• Attending virtually scheduled meetings with other members of the project team
• This position involves standing, walking and climbing stairs, and transporting equipment and materials such as laptop computers and notebooks weighing 15 pounds or more

QualificationsMinimum Required Qualifications

• Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking
• Available for entire training and data collection period
• Able to successfully complete training
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and reliable personal automobile available for business use
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop, and other associated equipment
• Access to password protected WiFI connection for data transmission and administrative responsibilities
• Able to keep project information confidential
• Willingness to work in various types of weather conditions and after dark
• Ability and willingness to drive up to three hours from home to assigned sampled schools
• Ability and willingness to drive more than three hours from home to assigned sampled schools requiring an overnight stay
• Ability to uphold project-specific standard operating procedures and guidelines.
• Ability to work early morning weekday hours when survey dates take place.

• Effective time, schedule, and workload management skills to meet set deadlines
• Computer skills, namely email and internet proficiency
• Experience conducting data collection in a school/classroom setting
• Ability to manage work tasks independently and as part of a team
• Experience effectively managing classrooms to avoid potential disruptions during a proctored survey/assessment or in a similar environment.
• Experience with survey data collections which collect sensitive health and behavior risk information
• Experience with fostering a safe environment in which sample members feel comfortable responding to sensitive health and behavior risk survey questions
• Ability to troubleshoot technology issues independently
• Experience with data entry tasks within a control system
