SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Surgery Business Manager is responsible for the overall safety, quality, patient experience, and financial performance of specialty services, which includes both the Surgery Center and Oral Surgery lines of business, by ensuring that the company’s policies and critical processes are accurately executed on a daily basis. The Surgery Manager works closely with the Director of Specialty Operations, Area Managers and Practice Managers of Pediatrics to ensure that the Company’s Mission, Purpose, and Beliefs are being supported and the overall vision is consistently executed upon.

The Essential Functions:

Use key performance indictors to achieve revenue targets and strategic business goals for both lines of business
Daily management of operations including patient scheduling, patient flow, interaction with families, patient follow-up, in-office marketing, proper application of treatment fees
Proactively manage performance of assigned treatment coordinators including but not limited to coaching, performance appraisals, corrective action when appropriate and rewards.
Responsible for successful onboarding and training of all new team members
Ensure training and development of staff by identifying training needs and establishing initiatives to meet company/individual objectives and coach other team members
Act as the central point of contact for OS /SC teams
Manage staff and doctor relationships to ensure that they are productive, contributing members to an overall positive team environment
Seamlessly manage referrals, initiated by our Pediatric teams, working closely with the Area Managers and Practice Managers to ensure that the process is well executed

Facilitate billing and prior authorization practices and ensure that proper billing and prior authorization practices are being followed, including patient payment arrangements, chart documentation, fee schedules, pre-authorizations etc.
Provide regular feedback to Director of Specialty Operations on employee performance
Manage scheduling of all team members for both lines of business
Manage and resolve escalated patient complaints
Ensure strict compliance with all company policies and pertinent laws and regulations
Ensure that Surgery Center and Oral Surgery regulatory requirements are met or exceeded
Communicate regularly with Director of Specialty Operations regarding all facets of the Surgery Center and Oral Surgery operations
Work with the Area Managers and Director of Specialty Operations to audit contracts, fees, acceptance ratios and strive for continuous improvement of the processes, providing accurate metrics of company goals
Partner with the Company’s marketing team to ensure a localized marketing plan is executed on a consistent basis in line with the Company’s vision
Assist management in structured and complete execution of any revised or new company policies
Support the Claims and Payments departments by ensuring that the company’s financial policies are accurately executed and that all patient and insurance commitments are being met by review at every patient appointment
Ensure the team is provided with a safe and clean working environment and that our patients are wowed by the overall KCDO experience
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Required Education and Experience:

5 years of dental practice experience highly preferred
Familiarity with specific billing and coding procedures
Demonstrates strong business acumen
Strong understanding of both front and back office duties
Proven leadership skills with affinity for developing others
Excellent communication and computer skills
Can do attitude with problem solving skills
Upbeat personality is a MUST
Patient focused, team player
Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
