We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead the end-to-end supply chain function for a growing manufacturing organization. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for the complete flow of materials across the business, including demand planning, purchasing, supplier management, inventory control, warehousing/stockroom operations, and shipping logistics. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills who also enjoys improving processes, reducing costs, and supporting production goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the supply chain organization, including purchasing, inventory/stockroom, and shipping teams.
• Establish departmental priorities, performance expectations, and operational objectives aligned with business goals.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and accountability for direct reports and cross-functional teams.
• Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, supplier selection, contract negotiations, purchasing, and supplier performance management.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while driving improvements in pricing, quality, lead times, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate favorable commercial terms, including pricing agreements, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service-level expectations.
• Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action when delivery, quality, or cost objectives are not met.
• Identify and implement sourcing strategies that reduce risk, improve supply continuity, and support long-term business objectives.
• Oversee demand planning, inventory control, and material replenishment strategies to ensure uninterrupted production and customer fulfillment.
• Manage purchasing and inventory workflows through MRP/ERP systems, including purchase orders, reorder points, forecasts, and supplier records.
• Maintain accurate master data related to suppliers, pricing, lead times, part numbers, and inventory attributes.
• Develop inventory strategies that balance service levels, inventory investment, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee stockroom and warehouse operations, ensuring accurate receiving, storage, inventory control, cycle counting, and material movement.
• Ensure inventory accuracy through robust controls, auditing practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage shipping operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and on-time outbound deliveries.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipping activities and maintain required logistics documentation.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) including supplier performance, inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, procurement savings, lead-time compliance, and quality metrics.
• Analyze supply chain data to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on process efficiency, cost reduction, inventory optimization, and service performance.
• Drive improvements in ERP/MRP utilization, reporting accuracy, and supply chain visibility.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Production, Quality, and Finance teams to align supply chain activities with business requirements.
• Support new product introductions, production schedules, inventory planning, and cost-management initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry regulations, quality standards, import/export requirements, and customer-specific requirements.

Essential Skills

• Supply chain management
• Experience with MRP software
• 3+ years of experience in managing supply chain teams (3+ people)
• Manufacturing experience, specifically in electrical purchasing
• Strong skills in planning, purchasing, inventory management, and vendor management
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in the aerospace and defense industry
• Ability to work closely with customers, attend meetings, and oversee the product through manufacturing
• Capability to manage multiple responsibilities and roles effectively

Work Environment

The work environment is set in a manufacturing setting of a small to mid-sized company. The purchasing team consists of 3 employees, with a business casual dress code. The working hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The company boasts a low attrition rate, with departures typically due to relocation or retirement.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Patterson, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $57.69/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
