Supplier Resiliency Project Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Supplier Resiliency Project Manager based in the United States.

This role supports critical supplier resiliency initiatives within a complex manufacturing and maritime industrial environment.
You will lead supplier assessments, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions that improve delivery and production performance.
The position combines project management, supplier management, process improvement, and cross-functional coordination.
You will oversee projects from planning and execution through monitoring and closure, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and program objectives.
The role requires close collaboration with suppliers, engineering, quality assurance, operations, program management, and government stakeholders.
You will also identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate progress through clear reports and executive-level briefings.

Accountabilities:

• Lead and direct supplier assessments for critical suppliers within the maritime industrial base.
• Evaluate supplier performance against key objectives, including first-pass yield and on-time delivery.
• Conduct root cause assessments to identify operational and process issues affecting supplier performance.
• Develop, implement, and monitor corrective actions to address identified issues.
• Partner with suppliers to drive continuous process improvement and strengthen long-term resiliency.
• Manage assigned projects throughout the full lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Ensure project activities remain aligned with program objectives, scope, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate activities across technical, operational, administrative, and supplier-facing functions.
• Provide operational guidance and support problem resolution in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Work closely with quality assurance, engineering, program management, and other stakeholders to resolve delivery and performance challenges.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to support successful delivery.
• Monitor project progress, milestones, deliverables, and performance indicators.
• Maintain clear communication with internal teams, external suppliers, senior leadership, and government stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed project reports, briefings, presentations, and status updates for diverse audiences.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen manufacturing and supply chain performance.
• Maintain focus on project objectives, deadlines, quality requirements, and customer expectations.
• Contribute to broader supplier resiliency strategies and initiatives across the program.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technical discipline or related field.
• At least 5 years of project management experience, preferably within manufacturing, supply chain, or supplier management environments.
• PMP certification is required.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement experience is preferred.
• Strong experience conducting supplier assessments and managing corrective action initiatives.
• Demonstrated knowledge of continuous process improvement methodologies and practices.
• Proven experience managing projects within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
• Ability to analyze operational issues, identify root causes, and translate findings into practical corrective actions.
• Strong understanding of supplier performance, delivery, quality, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to lead, coordinate, and influence cross-functional teams while maintaining focus on project objectives and deadlines.
• Strong organizational and project planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, external suppliers, technical teams, and government stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to prepare professional reports, executive briefings, and presentations for varied audiences.
• Active Secret security clearance required.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% within the continental United States.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while collaborating with distributed teams.
