Brief summary of purpose:

Responsible for the development and coordination of all life enrichment activities at each PACE Day center location and the supervision of the Life Enrichment Assistants.  This position oversees the development of programming, the management of staff, the oversight of supplies and related budget and pursues new ideas that all result in the provision of meaningful, purposeful experiences and brings joy to the participants.  The Life Enrichment Manager will develop and implement therapeutic activity programming in conjunction with PACE center staff and restorative consultants (PT, OT, ST) that encompasses all facets of a person’s being: physical, social, intellectual, artistic, and spiritual.  The programming includes on-site and off-site experiences including in the homes of PACE participants when relevant.

Responsibilities

Primary Job Repsponsibilities

• Utilizing input from restorative service consults, develops and implements a comprehensive activities program to help meet the physical, social, intellectual, artistic, and spiritual needs of the participants
• Works collaboratively with the Site Director on implementation of programs in a way that encourages teamwork and positive outcomes
• Demonstrates and appreciates programming for regular educational and culturally competent activities including but not limited to exercise, arts and crafts, music appreciation, and spirituality.
• Ensures participant choices and engagement when planning and conducting activities.
• Builds and fosters a sense of community and a warm social atmosphere, treating all participants with respect and dignity, providing a solid support system to participants at the ADHC.  
• Integrates feedback from the Participant Advisory Committee and Member Experience surveys into the development and implementation of the comprehensive activities program.   
• Assesses individual abilities, needs and preferences through an activities assessment during the intake process.    
• Identifies problems, establishes realistic goals and sets up treatment plans utilizing therapeutic activities.
• Participates in the interdisciplinary team (IDT) process and collaborates with IDT members to meet the needs of participants.
• Participates in daily IDT meetings, care planning and quality meetings as necessary.
• Periodically reassesses participants’ needs and communicates with IDT members to update participants’ care plans as needed.
• Documents quarterly review of participants’ needs and participation in activities in the participant’s medical record.
• Plans, organizes and implements, or supervises the implementation by others, the daily schedule of individual and group activities tailored to the needs of frail elderly participants.
• Schedules, posts and distributes the monthly activity schedule/calendar.
• Supervises Life Enrichment Assistants in the provision of their responsibilities, conducting regular documentation audits, meeting one-on-one with individual staff providing performance based feedback and supports professional growth
• Develops the volunteer program including recruiting, orientation and supervision. Develops and maintains the volunteer handbook and records accurate volunteer data and statistics.
• Possesses strong knowledge of service area community, interacts with other Live Enrichment professionals, invites guests and potential partners to get to know PACE and potentially contribute time and talent toward the program
• Cultivates community resources and entertainers for use in day center.

Qualifications

Education

High School Graduate, Associate or Bachelor's degreee preferred.

License/Certifications

Access to reliable transportation to facilitate travel throughout the service area to perform essential functions

Experience

• At least two years of experience working in a social or recreational program providing and coordinating services a frail or elderly population within the last 5 years, or completion of Fallon health offered training program.
• Certification as an Activity Director preferred
• CPR and Alzheimers certifications, or willingness to be certified, is essential.    

Pay Range Disclosure:In accordance with the Massachusetts Wage Transparency Act, the pay for this position is $ $60,000 annually which reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay at the time of posting. Final compensation will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, and fit with the role’s responsibilities.
