Where You’ll Work
St. Luke’s Health – Memorial San Augustine is an 18 bed critical access hospital. This 18-bed hospital is the area's only certified critical access hospital full accreditation by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Services include emergency care, MRI, CT, digital mammography and telemedicine for fast results. A fully accredited dialysis center, operated by Sankar Nephrology, is also located on campus.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Lab Supervisor, you will be a pivotal leader, directly contributing to the development of annual departmental goals, objectives, and budget, while actively facilitating their achievement and ensuring ongoing evaluation of results for continuous improvement.

Essential Functions:
- Supervises, coaches, and reviews the performance of laboratory personnel to ensure adherence to relevant policies and ethics
- Oversees designated laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over personnel decisions
- Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes
- Administers laboratory inventories such as supplies, equipment and consumables
- Selection of test methodology that is appropriate for the clinical use of the test results
- Verification of the test procedures performed and establishment of the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system
Job Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA, upon hire and
- Minimum of five years at a moderate or high complexity laboratory, upn hire and
- International Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP-IMLS), upon hire or
- Blood Banking (BB), upon hire or
- Chemistry - ASCP (CASCP), upon hire or
- Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), upon hire or
- Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT-NCA), upon hire or
- Doctor of Medicine: AZ (MD:AZ), upon hire or
- Medical Laboratory Scientist - Med Technologist (MLS), upon hire or
- Medical Technologist AAB (MT-AAB), upon hire or
- Technologist in Microbiology (MMT-ASCP), upon hire or
- Medical Technologist AMT (MT-AMT), upon hire or
- Technologist in Microbiology (MMT-ASCP), upon hire or
- Specialist in Hematology (SH-ASCP), upon hire or
- Histotechnologist (HTL), upon hire
Preferred:
- One year experience as a supervisor or higher
