The Wealth & Asset Management Solutions (WAMS) team, part of Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS), distributes and supports proprietary and selected third-party asset management products and services across multiple channels. The team also partners with Offer Management, Product and Marketing to bring investment solutions, education and resources to consultants and advisors.

We are seeking an experienced relationship-builder and sales professional who can earn trust, translate investment concepts into clear client conversations and help advisors connect the right solutions to client needs. This role is well suited to someone who brings strong judgment, curiosity, investment fluency and a track record of developing a territory through long-term partnerships.

This is a telecommute position with regular travel within the territory. You must live within the territory once assuming the position.

Job Responsibilities

• Own acquisition and growth for Schwab Asset Management managed investing solutions and selected third-party offerings across their territory
• Build durable, trusted relationships with Financial Consultants, branch leaders and regional partners; tailor engagement to the needs and opportunity within each branch and advisor practice.
• Act as a strategic thought partner to help advisors identify prospective clients, uncover needs and position investment solutions appropriately.
• Join advisor meetings with existing and prospective clients to provide clear, balanced education on investment strategies and solutions.
• Develop deep knowledge of investment philosophies, portfolio construction, holdings, product features and the client needs each solution is designed to address.
• Create and deliver relevant sales ideas, product updates and market-informed education that make complex investment concepts easier to understand and use.
• Lead branch education and the rollout of new products, enhancements and key business initiatives.
• Develop and execute an in-market client event strategy, including branch meetings, client and prospect events, webcasts and other educational programs.
• Use Salesforce, Tableau and other reporting tools to manage opportunities, prioritize outreach and analyze regional flows, trends and participation.
• Collaborate across WAMS and with business development, wealth management, banking, product, marketing and investment partners to deliver a coordinated experience.
• Manage the territory with a strong field presence and regular travel for branch visits, client meetings and Schwab-sponsored events.

What you have

Required Qualifications

• Active and valid FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses 
• Bachelor’s degree
• Substantial experience in consultative sales, business development or relationship management with a demonstrated record of building trust and delivering results.
• Substantial experience in financial services, wealth management, investment management, portfolio management, investment consulting or a closely related field.
• Strong working knowledge of investment products and portfolio concepts, with the ability to explain philosophy, process, portfolio construction, holdings, risks and client fit in clear language.
• Ability to influence through partnership, navigate a complex organization and work effectively with a wide range of advisor, client and internal stakeholder styles.
• Confident written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to individuals, small groups and larger audiences.
• Sound judgment, personal accountability and the ability to independently prioritize and manage a geographically dispersed territory.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout territory

Preferred Qualifications

We recognize that strong candidates may bring different combinations of experience. The following are helpful, but not required:

• Experience distributing managed accounts, separately managed accounts, wrap programs, asset management solutions or related wealth management offerings.
• Experience partnering with financial advisors, branch networks, registered investment advisors, institutional consultants or other intermediary channels.
• A record of developing a sales territory through segmentation, disciplined follow-up, client events and opportunity management.
• Experience using CRM and business intelligence tools such as Salesforce and Tableau.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, onboarding or sharing sales and investment best practices.
• CFA, CIMA, CFP certification, MBA or other relevant advanced education or designation.
