Job Title:          Sunday Morning Preschool Director
Reports to:       Preschool Minister

Job description: As a Director, you will connect, support, manage and care for a team of volunteers by investing relationally, communicating important information and solving conflicts as you help equip them for ministry.

Commitment: Sunday mornings arrive 30 minutes before start of service (9:00am) until church ends

Equip:

• On Sunday mornings assist volunteers with any needs they have.
• Encourage and monitor the use of the curriculum.
• Work with volunteers to ensure proper staffing on Sunday mornings.
• Communicate necessary updates and be accessible to your team members.
• Communicate classroom needs to Ministry Assistant

Train

• Observe classrooms and encourage ongoing development.
• Oversee apprenticing opportunities in the classrooms.
• Know the dynamics, numbers, and needs of their small group.
• Evaluate current processes and make necessary changes.
• Communicate safety and evacuation plans to volunteers throughout the year.

Sunday Morning Responsibilities

• Check in on rooms – volunteers, supplies, understanding of curriculum, train new volunteers
• Take time to talk to Volunteers
• Make decisions regarding rooms – change volunteers around, get extra supplies, etc…
• Check that attendance matches room clip board.
• Handle emergencies
• Welcome families and children as they enter your area of the hall
• Write cards or send texts: Thank You- Substitutes, Missed You- Absent Volunteers, and at least 1 postcard for acts of excellence
• Check name tags in rooms- does everyone have one?

Other Responsibilities:

• Be an active member of The Heights Baptist Church which includes attending worship and a Bible Fellowship at least monthly.
• In case of absence, make arrangements with other coordinators to cover your hallway. Hallways that go uncovered will result in a reduction of your pay unless previously discussed with the Preschool Minister. 
• Time off requests for vacations and other planned events should be submitted by email to [email protected].  This should include the dates and who will be covering your hallway.
