Summer Admissions Ambassador - Enrollment Management (Work-Study Required)
Job Overview:
The Admissions Ambassador plays a crucial role in connecting with prospective and admitted students and their families. The primary responsibilities of the Admissions Ambassador are to provide engaging campus tours, participate in student panels, and support various Admissions events. Successful candidates will provide exceptional customer service and ensure that every visiting student receives a positive experience throughout their admissions journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Connect with prospective and admitted students and their families during individual visits, group/school visits, and large-scale Admissions events.
- Provide engaging campus tours that showcase Duquesne’s academic facilities, student life opportunities, and campus resources.
- Support professional staff with the execution of large-scale Admissions events, such as our DUQ Days and Admitted Student Days.
- Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, creating a positive and helpful impression of the university.
- Share relevant and positive stories about your academic and co-curricular experiences at Duquesne to help prospective and admitted students see Duquesne as a top choice for college.
- Assist with creating and sharing Admissions social media posts.
- Participate in additional recruitment initiatives, such as writing postcards, mailing acceptance letters, and conducting call campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 15 or more earned credits at Duquesne.
- Must be in good academic and judicial standing with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Duquesne’s campus layout, programs, and campus resources.
- Strong sense of teamwork.
Scheduling:
- Availability to work at least 2 weekday shifts that are scheduled in 2.5 hour blocks. More information will be reviewed during the interview.
- Ability to work certain weekends with advance notice. Ambassadors must sign up to work a few Saturday tours and one large-scale event each semester.
- Participation in a paid training retreat at the start of the fall and spring semesters
