Ignite Your Finance Career with SPP as our Summer 2027 Financial Analyst Intern!

The Financial Analyst Intern will support SPP’s Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team while gaining hands-on experience with financial analysis in the energy industry. The intern’s primary project will involve supporting the annual budget preparation and monthly close processes, along with opportunities to contribute to SPP’s western expansion and other financial analysis projects.

Throughout the internship, the intern will assist with data preparation, variance analysis and explanations, and financial model updates. They will also gain experience evaluating the financial performance of SPP projects and lines of business and supporting financial planning and strategic decision-making.

In addition to the analytical work, the intern will build communication and technical writing skills by drafting budget commentary and preparing presentation materials for director-level review. This combination of detailed financial analysis and exposure to SPP leadership will give the intern an opportunity to strengthen both their analytical and communication skills while seeing how financial information supports business decisions.

Internship Overview

• Duration: 10–12 weeks, full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

• Format: Onsite internship.

• Compensation: Paid internship with housing available (if needed)

• Engagement: Teaming activities and professional development opportunities outside of regular work hours

• Capstone: Interns will deliver a final presentation showcasing lessons learned and knowledge gained

What We're Looking For:

• College student working toward a bachelor’s degree or above in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
• Must be entering senior year or have completed at least three years of undergraduate coursework by the start of the internship.
• 3.0 GPA or higher

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Analytical acumen with the ability to interpret financial data.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.

Position Type, Locations and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a temporary, onsite summer 2026 internship in Little Rock, Arkansas. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
