Caprock Academy is seeking Substitute Teachers and substitute Educational Assistants for the 2026-2024 school year.. Caprock Academy is a public, tuition-free school chartered by the Colorado Charter School Institute and utilizes the timeless principles of classically oriented education. 

Caprock Academy follows the Core Knowledge© curriculum in grades K–8. This curriculum encompasses language arts, mathematics, science, history, geography, fine arts, and physical education. The curriculum is characterized by content-rich instruction, cumulative knowledge, content-specific lessons, and coherent sequencing. The foundation of our academics are rooted in classical education philosophy and pedagogy, following the grammar, logic and rhetoric trivium. The school’s mission is to help all students achieve their highest academic and character potential using proven, accelerated academic programs while providing a safe environment. This mission is achieved through our vision of strengthening the community through the involvement of parents, educators, and community leaders working together to provide an environment that fosters academic excellence and develops strong character in our students. We are currently expanding our pool of substitute teachers for the current school year. Occasionally jobs become available at the last minute during the summer or in the middle of the school year. Caprock Academy is therefore happy to receive substitute applications throughout the year even for positions that do not have posted openings. FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, non-exempt

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: casual, part-time

WORK HOURS: 7:15 a.m.-3:15 p.m. full day

PAY RANGE: Teacher$150/full-day, $75/half- day. Ed. Assist $15.91/hr

REPORTS TO: Executive Assistant to the Head of School

Essential Duties:

• Implement teacher lesson plans
• Help faculty to always supervise students.
• Take part of a rotating schedule for playground duty before school, at recess, at lunch and after school.
• Aid teachers in drop off and pick up duty before and/or after school.
• Facilitate the Pledge of Allegiance with students.
• Take attendance.
• Enforce school policies (ie. dress code, technology usage, etc).

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma. Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred.
• Experience working with students, preferred.
• Desire and willingness to promote the mission and values of the school.
• Demonstrated effective classroom-management skills.
• Ability and willingness to work effectively with peers and team members.
• Professional and personal integrity and judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
