The Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing educational services to school age children attending Cumberland Academy according to the Academy Standards, as instructed by the Director of Education.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide educational services to assigned students.

2. Implement behavioral strategies in the classroom as developed by the team.

3. Complete all documentation in a professional and timely manner.

4. Provide verbal and written documentation to student’s team members.

5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, but not required.

Licensure/Certification: Maintain current CPI (bi-annually), CPR (BLS Provider annually) First Aid (two years) Certifications.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• 80-90% of the time, the incumbent is standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching while working with patients.
• Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patients.
• Ability to perform CPR and First Aid.

Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents is a unique acute care, inpatient specialty hospital with 110 licensed beds, including Med Surg. and Residential Treatment Center; staffed by the finest physicians and treatment teams. We treat patients, ages 2-22 who have chronic illnesses, brain injuries and neurobehavioral disorders with co-behavioral issues.
