Substitute Teacher

Job Summary

The Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular teacher while supporting the mission and values of Holy Redeemer Catholic School. The Substitute Teacher maintains a positive learning environment, implements lesson plans, and promotes student academic, social, and spiritual growth.

Essential Responsibilities

• Carry out lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and productive classroom environment.
• Supervise students throughout the school day, including during transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties.
• Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school policies and expectations.
• Provide instruction and assistance to students in individual, small-group, and whole-class settings.
• Communicate relevant information regarding student progress, behavior, and completed work to the regular teacher.
• Uphold the values, teachings, and mission of Catholic education.
• Follow all school safety procedures, policies, and confidentiality requirements.
• Collaborate professionally with school administrators, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom and engage students in learning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Supportive of the mission and values of the Catholic Church and Catholic education.
