Health Office/ Substitute Nurse
Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Category 8
Salary: $38.50 Per Hour
As the key to a comprehensive health program, this position is concerned with Oaks Christian’s approach to the health and medical needs of its students and staff, as is customary in school environments.
Responsibilities:
- Exalt our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, demonstrating a Christ-like attitude in performing all work.
- Attend to ill or injured students, faculty, and staff, providing required first aid and other emergency care.
- Maintenance of student records as required by law or as deemed appropriate within departmental operations.
- Assess health of students, staff, and sometimes family members (through observation, examinations, screening, and history recording).
- Serve as a resource for teachers and administrators.
- Establish, maintain, and control the administration of medication in accordance with established procedures.
- Implement accepted communicable disease control through exclusion standards, and report communicable diseases to the proper authorities.
- Interpret student health status to teachers and parents.
- Assess students with suspected child abuse and report such cases to the authorities.
- Educate Health Department staff, parents, and students on school health policy and procedures.
- Confer with students, employees, parents, doctors, medical agencies, etc., regarding health guidance.
- Communicate and coordinate Health Department activities with other departments and personnel on campus.
- Trained for medical management for disaster preparedness and implementation.

Experience:
RN Degree. Experience in a school setting preferred.
