Here's how it works. Our Cerologist is with a guest for twenty minutes. She sees the skin, she knows what's going on, and she knows what would actually make things better, a membership that makes every visit cheaper, adding the underarms next time, an enhancement, the aftercare that stops the ingrowns. She makes the recommendation and hands it off.

Then the guest walks up to your desk, and it's on you to finish it. The membership. The rebook. The package. The add-on service. The product.

That's the job. Not talking people into things they don't want,  our guests come back because we're honest with them, and we're not a get-them-in-get-them-out shop. But it does mean saying the thing out loud. "Stacey mentioned the membership, want me to set that up? It'd actually save you money starting today." A lot of warm, lovely people never quite get that sentence out. If you do, you're who we're looking for.

About us

Waxing the City is a national franchise brand built around one thing done well,  waxing. Our specialists are called Cerologists, and they go through the brand's own training program to learn exactly how we wax: hard wax on the face, bikini and underarms, soft wax on larger areas, and a real consultation every time so nobody's guessing.

Our Lakeland studio opened in July 2025 in Lakeside Village. We're the only Waxing the City in Lakeland, the next closest is more than thirty miles away,  and we've spent our first year building a base of guests who come back because the experience feels personal rather than rushed. We're small, we're owner-operated, and we're growing fast.

This role is brand new to our studio. Whoever takes it gets to shape it.

What you'll do

• Finish the recommendation. Check guests out and close what the Cerologist teed up, the Club Orange membership, the wax package, the rebook, an added service or enhancement for next time, and the aftercare that keeps results looking great.
• Turn calls into appointments. Answer the phone and texts quickly and warmly, and get "how much is a Brazilian?" onto the schedule.
• Keep the book full. Confirm tomorrow's guests, fill same-day openings, welcome walk-ins, and check in on people we haven't seen in a while.
• Set the tone. Greet every guest, get them checked in, and make the lobby somewhere people are glad to sit.
• Run the day. Handle reschedules, manage the flow when we're running behind, and keep it smooth when it gets busy.

What we're looking for

• You'll actually ask. Somewhere in your history you've been paid on results,  commission, a bonus, a quota, an attach goal. Any industry, any amount. What matters is that you've asked someone to buy something and didn't stop at the first "let me think about it."
• People like you immediately. You read what someone needs, and you know the difference between a nervous first-timer and a regular in a hurry.
• You stay organized when it's loud. A ringing phone, a checkout, and a walk-in at the same time doesn't rattle you.
• You're accurate. The right appointment, the right service, the right total.
• You show up. Thursday through Saturday are the days this studio makes its money, and we need to count on you.
• You take feedback well. This role is new. We'll be figuring it out together, which means a lot of coaching early on.

Nice to have

Front desk or membership sales anywhere: gym, salon, spa, med spa, dental, hotel, or retail with attach goals. Comfort with scheduling or POS software helps. No license required.

Pay and schedule

$14/hour base, plus:

• Commission on product — 5% on the first $500, 10% above that
• $10 for every membership you sign up
• $5 for every wax package you sell
• Potential bonuses for bringing back guests we haven't seen in a while

Part-time to start, roughly 24–30 hours a week, concentrated Thursday through Saturday (likely 9AM-5PM) with evening and weekend availability required. Hours grow as the studio grows, with a path to full-time.
