The office assistant will provide administrative support to faculty and staff, including data entry, document management, and office communications. They will also assist with special projects, social media updates, and campus errands as needed.
Job Description
The Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity (CSCRE) is an interdisciplinary academic center that supports teaching, scholarship, programming, and intellectual engagement around race, culture, ethnicity, and related questions of power and social difference.
The position involves assisting the department and CSCRE faculty with office support duties including:
- Assist CSCRE faculty and staff with administrative tasks, special projects, and Center programming.
- Create and distribute promotional materials for CSCRE events, courses, programs, and other initiatives.
- Assist with maintaining and updating CSCRE website, social media, event calendar, and other communications.
- Help document CSCRE events and activities and organize materials for the Center's records and archives.
- Assist with maintaining current information about CSCRE courses, the Race, Power, and Resistance major, and affiliated minors.
- Support the planning, promotion, and coordination of the CSCRE Discussion Series and other Center-sponsored events.
- assist faculty and/or office with assignments and special projects
Hours per week are 5 - 10 and could vary within that range during the course of the semester
depending on department need; days/times are negotiable and will be set at the beginning of
the semester depending on student’s availability and department’s needs.
