As a UH student fundraiser, you will be an ambassador and a personal representative of the University of Hawaii.  You will be trained to contact alumni and friends of the University to build relationships, offer updates on current campus events, and raise monetary support.

Over $1,100,000 is raised annually for UH by our student fundraisers, all of which directly benefits our students.   Your hard work and commitment is the key to our success.

Responsibilities

• Contact alumni to educate them on the importance of the supporting their alma mater.
• Establish a positive rapport with the alumni you call.
• Respond positively to problems and answer any questions about the University.
• Request a gift to the university. If necessary, negotiate the pledge amount.
• Update address and employment of all alumni contacts.
• Follow all other procedures and guideline in the training manual.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal communication skills
• Comfort in soliciting personal donations from alumni
• Persistence in securing a pledge and negotiating the pledge amount
• Organizational abilities and attentiveness to details
• Ability to work as part of a team and with senior staff support
• Enthusiasm for UH, its mission and programs

Working Hours

• Weekly shifts are scheduled:
  1. Sunday 1:00pm – 4:30pm
  2. Sunday 5:30pm – 9:00pm
  3. Monday 6:00pm – 9:00pm
  4. Tuesday 6:00pm – 9:00pm
  5. Wednesday 6:00pm – 9:00pm
  6. Thursday 6:00pm – 9:00pm
•  Applicants must commit to a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
