Schedule

Monday-Friday between 8 am-5pm

Preferably available between 11 am and 2 pm

Purpose

The Jackson School of Geoscience Dean’s Office is hiring a part-time Student Associate for the Fall semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Dean's Suite Staff.
• Greet guests and visitors; answer phones.
• Perform clerical tasks, including data entry, scanning documents, assisting with large projects (as needed).
• Execute routine housekeeping tasks, including kitchen clean-up, dusting furniture and equipment, occasional vacuuming, emptying bins, refilling paper in copiers, etc.
• Prepare and serve refreshments for meetings when required.
• Deliver and collect mail.
• Accept a variety of office tasks, as assigned.
• Consistent attendance, prompt arrival for work shifts, and professional demeanor are required for this position.
• Ability to work in at least 4-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.

Required Qualifications

Detail-oriented and methodical in the completion of tasks.

Diligent and able to operate under strict deadlines.

Independently motivated.

An effective communicator.

Willing and eager to learn.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Intermediate MS Office Suite experience or aptitude to learn quickly.

Demonstrable professional, clear, and concise communication skills.

A history of task ownership and accountability.

Experience at UT Austin.

Salary Range

$19 an hour
