Structural Engineering Intern - Buildings

Overview

Kimley-Horn's St. Paul, MN office is seeking engineering students to join our growing Building Structures team. If you are a collaborative and creative student who enjoys working on a variety of building projects and client types this is the position for you.

As an intern with Kimley-Horn, you will benefit from hands-on experience, technical and consulting training, mentorship opportunities, and developmental programs geared towards growing Kimley-Horn’s next generation of leaders. With support from your team, you will work on projects in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, ideal for engineers eager to grow their technical and creative skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop skills as a project engineer by assisting with the delivery, design, and detailing of a wide range of projects while working with more senior staff and BIM designer staff who will coach, guide, and support your growth
• Perform structural design calculations, plan production activities, and prepare project document submittal packages while working with a larger design team
• Conduct site visits when needed

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors:
  • Civil Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
• Strong sense of urgency and self-discipline to meet deadlines
• Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
• Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals
• Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills with a continuous mindset on personal and staff development and ability to grow through feedback

Rate: $28-$29 Hourly
