StretchLab Santa Monica is seeking personal trainers, strength & conditioning coaches, athletic trainers, massage therapists, physical therapists & PT assistants, corrective exercise specialists, and chiropractors to join our team. StretchLab is the industry leader in offering one-on-one assisted stretching and has created a variety of offerings to empower clients to ‘Live Long’. StretchLab prides itself on having the finest team of stretching professionals, and our proprietary Flexologist Training Program ensures that their clients receive a world class stretching session.

Our Flexologists provide one-on-one assisted stretches for our clients. The Flexologist’s goal is to create the best professional stretch experience for their clients by ensuring that they get the most out of their stretch without ever putting them in danger of pain or injury. Our Flexologists talk every client through each stretch, making sure the client knows what the stretch is designed to do, and how it should feel. And the Flexologist will let the client know where they are especially tight and what the client can do during their daily routine to help them become as mobile and limber as possible. Our Flexologists work part-time in a very flexible and enjoyable environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one assisted stretch sessions.
• Encourage and motivate clients throughout stretch sessions.
• Build StretchLab membership and retain current clientele.
• Ensure safety of clients in regards to proper stretch techniques and enforce StretchLab policies and safety rules.
• Attend staff meetings and required educational presentations.
• Handle member concerns when applicable.
• Assist sales associates and General Manager with studio tour, offsite events and sales as needed.
• Maintain strong social media presence to promote client membership and retention.
• Clean and maintain all equipment in order to ensure it is available for client use at any given time.

Qualifications:

• Love of boutique fitness environment is a must – passion for stretching, mobility and flexibility.
• Prior certification/degree required from a nationally recognized organization/university in one of the following fields:
  • Personal Trainer, Athletic Trainer, or Sports Coach
  • Massage Therapist
  • Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Yoga or Pilates Instructor
  • Kinesiology/Sports Medicine/Corrective Exercises, etc.
• A minimum of 2 years experience working in a fitness/health environment where you have provided one-on-one hands-on training with clients.
• Ability to create a positive environment that welcomes all people.
• Fantastic communication skills and exudes empathy.
• Must love connecting with people and have passion for helping them achieve goals.
• Must have a professional work ethic, be reliable and adhere to our attendance policies.
• Must successfully pass our Flexologist Training Program including 40 hours of online tutorials, 2 days of in-person/hands-on training and 20 hours of practical training.

Flexologist training program

Our proprietary Flexologist Training Program is the only accredited assisted stretching program. The Institute for Credentialing Excellence, the leading international membership organization representing the credentialing community has officially recognized StretchLab's FTP program. During their required 60-70+ hours of theory and hands-on training, our Flexologists learn the muscular system, a variety of assisted stretches and exactly how to work with a variety of clients from professional athletes, weekend warriors, those recovering from an injury and clients of all ages and body types.
