Job DetailsJob Location: Summit School - Winston Salem, NC 27106Position Type: Part TimeJob Category: EducationSummit School is an independent school located in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking coaches for our Strength and Conditioning program for 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. The coach will be responsible for practices, workout development, skill development, supervision and overall program management throughout the season. The fall season begins in August and ends in October. The winter season begins in November and ends in February. The spring season begins in late February and ends in early May.

Seasonal/Temporary
Time commitment of 10-12 hours per week.
Candidates must demonstrate a proven aptitude for coaching and mentoring with a strong work ethic and organizational skills.
Maintain proper control and discipline in a positive manner by establishing good, wholesome rapport through healthy, professional relationships among students involved in our athletic programs.
Organize, plan and execute effective strength, conditioning and fitness training plans.
Flexibility, adaptability and patience are required.
Must be self motivated and able to work independently.
General Statement of Duties:
The Position is responsible for coaching student athletes in proper form, safety, and fitness center/weight room protocols. The coach should prepare and motivate student athletes to develop an appreciation of training and fitness. Qualified candidates encourage positive individual sportsmanship and develop lifelong learning skills in each student athlete.
Qualifications
Physical demands include:
● Ability to demonstrate the appropriate skills and techniques to be used by the students.
● Ability to visually monitor students.
● Ability to operate fitness equipment.
● Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 25 lbs.), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and moving equipment/boxes (up to 25 lbs.)

Summit School Special Education Center
The Summit School Special Education Center is a small, therapeutic ISBE approved and AdvancED accredited facility serving an average of 60 students whose educational needs are best served in a non-public school environment. Summit students, from kindergarten through high school graduation, are typically placed by home school districts according to students’ individual education plans (IEPs). Children with identified learning, attentional and/or social difficulties, including children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, attend Summit from over 30 school districts. Students benefit from an array of educational and support services, and work with a team of educators, therapists and staff to optimize success.
Summit School Early Learning Center
The Summit School Early Learning Center is an Illinois Governor’s ExceleRate Gold Circle of Quality accredited preschool program serving three-to-five-year-olds deemed to be developmentally at risk. At no cost to families, the Center strives to prepare 130 children for kindergarten by providing programming to develop social-emotional skills, cognitive skills, math and literacy skills.
