This position is responsible for:

Assisting store customers with donations and purchases, operating and maintaining a cash register, responding to customer questions, maintaining clean and orderly store displays, and safeguarding store merchandise and register funds.

Key Responsibilities:

Processes sales using a cash register; collects payments, counts change, prepares receipts and packages purchases; balances the cash drawer, runs routine register reports, prepares bank deposits, and safeguards register funds and sales records.
Prepares and maintains sales records, tax forms, social service vouchers, and routine sales reports; keeps the register area neat, secure, and adequately stocked.
Explains store policies and responds to questions about pricing and purchases so customers have a pleasant store experience.
Assists donors, directs them to loading and unloading areas, helps move donations when needed, and provides tax receipts.
Arranges and rotates merchandise, returns handled items to their proper locations, answers the telephone, records donation pickups, cleans displays and store surfaces, and opens or closes the store as scheduled.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Must meet attendance requirements; read, write, and communicate in English; operate a cash register; perform routine mathematical calculations and count change; and frequently walk, stand, kneel, or squat, with shorter periods of sitting or operating a vehicle.
Work is performed in a normal store environment with little or no physical discomfort associated with changes in weather.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU: • High School diploma or G.E.D. AND

• 1 year experience working in a retail store and six months working on a cash register OR

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
