The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute provides the best scientific research, education and clinical care integrating conventional and complementary medicine and strives to transform healthcare through the practice of integrative health by conducting rigorous research, promoting evidence-based treatment modalities, educating the public on well-being practices, providing individualized, patient-centered clinical care and providing services to the community that focus on obtaining optimal health.

Your Role on the Team

The UCI Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) seeks an outstanding individual for a full-time staff position as a physician to work collaboratively with our diverse, interprofessional team to deliver evidence-based integrative healthcare and make a difference in the lives of our patients and our community. The staff physician provides comprehensive integrative medicine services and follow-up visit/conference with patients in the Integrative Medicine program to ensure the highest quality care to patients. Physician with experience in the practice of integrative medicine including the following: Familiarity with specialty lab testing, prescribing supplements, hormones, and IV nutrient therapies, as well as managing complex conditions from an integrative perspective. The physician will provide direct outpatient care, be involved in teaching residents and medical students, as well as participate in scholarly activities.

Required:

• Advanced skills associated with conducting complex diagnosis, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
• Must be computer literate.
• Ability to conduct complex analyses, develop and present recommendations and findings, and determine appropriate courses of treatment.
• Skills in program development and implementation.
• Ability to influence policies and programs of significance.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse client group, medical staff, and faculty.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Current Medical License, State of California
• Must have a degree as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) OR a degree as a Medical Doctor (MD) with 2 or more years in integrative medicine practice.
• Current Medical License, State of California
• Current BLS
• Current Medical License, State of California

Preferred:

• Knowledge of UCI P&P
• ABIM Board Certification
