Staff Development Educator

Pay Rate: $37.10

GENERAL SCOPE: This position has responsibilities shared between two areas of service: the Assisted Living campus and the Skilled Nursing campus. The role assesses organizational learning needs, leverages both clinical and non-clinical resources to design and deliver training. A portion of time is dedicated to the Nursing Department, supporting ongoing clinical staff development, competency validation, regulatory compliance, and the promotion of best practices in resident care. This position plays a key role in fostering professional growth, enhancing quality outcomes, and ensuring excellence in service delivery across both care settings.  

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: Current New York State license as Registered Nurse is required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing, nursing education or related field preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assesses learning needs and identifies development opportunities.
• Designs and delivers training to staff across the organization.
• Evaluates, reviews and revises existing educational offerings.  Initiates additional activities in order to meet changing needs.
• Acts as a resource person and consultant for all staff members on teaching methods and materials.
• Utilizes a variety of training techniques, methods to instruct training participants and enhance the learning experience.
• Acts as an internal consultant in the development and utilization of evaluation tools.
• Develops relationships with community agencies and organizations as well as universities and colleges.
• Assists in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training for palliative care and other programs as assigned.
• Assists with clinical quality assurance activity as assigned
• Assists with training for families and residents throughout the campus
• Assists in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating community-wide educational programs.
• Participates in formal and informal educational experiences that will enhance self-development and ensures updated knowledge and expertise.
• Serves as member of or consultant to organization committees as assigned.
• All other job duties as Assigned.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 (five) years of nursing experience. Minimum of one (1) year teaching/ instruction design experience.
