POSITION

The Staff Development Center CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Graduate Assistant Pool.

The Staff Development Center Graduate Assistant will work under the general direction of the Manager of Learning and Development in the Staff Development Center (SDC) to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and initiatives that promote employee professional development, engagement, inclusion, and equity within the university community. The graduate assistant will assist and support education and training programs, as well as research and assessment activities related to employee learning and engagement. This is a part-time, graduate-level assistantship opportunity. Graduate assistants will be able to explore program development, facilitation skills development, and adult learning and development. Learning domains of social justice, personal and professional development, education, employee engagement and retention, and assessment and evaluation will be primary focus areas of this role. This role supports the Office of Engagement and Belonging (OEB) while specifically advancing the mission of the Staff Development Center.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing the department’s program assessment strategies for engagement, inclusion, and equity initiatives
• Assist with professional and personal development programming in the Staff Development Center
• Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials related to engagement, inclusion, and equity
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the department's marketing, website, and social media presence
• Support program development and implementation of SDC’s employee success and engagement programs and initiatives
• Support the daily operations of the SDC’s physical spaces on campus, including stocking supplies, keeping spaces clean, and supporting a welcoming environment.
• Provide exceptional customer service to campus and community members.
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Learning & Development

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Candidates must be an enrolled graduate student in good academic standing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of and experience with issues related to employee engagement, retention, talent development, learning and training design, inclusion, and equity.
• Experience managing an office or center.
• Strong customer service and problem skills.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and online-meeting technology.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
• Must be available to work 20 hours per week.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in program development and implementation

COMPENSATION

All Graduate Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers.

Classification Range: $3,245 to $6,072 per month
Anticipated hiring range not to exceed $3,640 per month

The full-time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.
