Cribl Edge is a vendor-neutral multi-platform agent that provides users with an intelligent and highly-scalable solution for edge-based data collection, serving hundreds of thousands of machines with diverse configurations. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Edge team, you will be a go-to engineer for Windows, building and improving the experience of running Cribl Edge across enterprise Windows environments — from data collection sources like Windows Event Logs, performance counters, and WMI, to installation, upgrades, and service lifecycle management. You'll also contribute to cross-platform features that run on Linux and macOS.

As An Active Member Of The Team, You Will...

• Own and improve the Windows experience for Cribl Edge — data collection sources (Event Logs, WMI, performance counters), installer/upgrade workflows, and Windows service management
• Design, build, and optimize software for data collection agents that run across Windows, Linux, and Mac environments
• Collaborate closely with UX designers, Product Managers, and fellow engineers to translate feature requirements into intuitive, high-performance user experiences.
• Own the development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and maintenance, delivering clean, efficient, and reliable code that meets customer needs.
• Develop automated tests and comprehensive test plans, including Windows-specific testing for service lifecycle, permissions, and platform edge cases
• Help maintain and support our SaaS products including periodic participation in our 24x7 on-call rotations
• This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties

If You’ve Got It - We Want It

• • Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Computer Science or similar field
  • Strong understanding of Windows internals — services, registry, WMI, event logging, permissions models, and installer technologies (MSI/MSIX)
  • Familiarity with cross-platform OS fundamentals including memory management, CPU scheduling, filesystems, process lifecycles, and networking
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging skills, including comfort with Windows-specific tooling (Event Viewer, Performance Monitor, procmon, WinDbg)
  • Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Experience leveraging the latest AI tools to accelerate delivery of features without sacrificing quality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex technical topics to stakeholders
  • A steadfast commitment to ownership, ensuring that deliverables consistently meet high standards of quality and performance.
  • A relentless drive to turn ideas into real, high-quality software that makes a difference.
  • Professional experience developing software using TypeScript and Node.js, ideally with experience building Node.js applications that run as Windows services
  • Experience using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Experience using assertion frameworks and tools to automate regression tests (e.g. Mocha)
  • Prior experience working on data intensive applications and/or data streams processing
  • Experience working remotely across timezones

The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location and will be based on the individual candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

In addition to base salary, for sales and some sales-adjacent roles, employees are eligible to earn incentive compensation (commission). For all other roles, employees are eligible to participate in the Cribl Corporate Bonus Program.

Base Salary Range$170,000—$220,000 USD
